We have taken a closer look at the three most popular Theragun massage guns to make your choice easier. Let’s take a look at them!
In today’s fast-paced and stressful world, it is often very difficult to find a solution that can provide refreshment and regeneration for our body, mind, and soul, helping us disconnect from the daily “rat race.”
The mission of Therabody is to offer an effective, natural solution that users may need to create and maintain their everyday “well-being.” To achieve this, they have combined education, innovation, and more than a decade of pioneering work in the field of tech wellness to make the “wellness” experience more accessible to everyone, even at home.
Dr. Jason Wersland, the founder of Therabody, works together with the world’s leading physiotherapists, educators, engineers, and scientists on product development, which is continuously evolving in line with user needs.
But how will I know which device is right for me? What is the difference between the different massage guns? Don’t worry, we are here to help!
Let’s take a closer look at the three most well-known and most popular Therabody massage devices: the Theragun PRO, the Theragun Prime, and the Theragun Mini.
At first glance, there are already visible differences between the three devices, mainly in terms of size and design, but this does not yet give us precise information about their usability and performance.
Let’s start with one of the most important parts of the device, so-called its “heart,” the built-in motor.
All three devices are equipped with QuietForce Technology, a patented professional motor designed to ensure that the device remains quiet even when changing intensity levels during use, thereby enhancing the experience of relaxation and recovery during massage.
There are also differences in terms of intelligent features. What they all have in common is that all three devices can be controlled via the Therabody app on a smartphone, where we can personalize our massage. The Theragun Prime and Theragun Mini feature LED displays, which allow us to track speed settings. Although the exact RPM values are not shown, light indicators and graphical signals help with navigation. In contrast, the Theragun PRO features an OLED display, where we can see the selected “speed” and RPM values numerically, which should be adjusted depending on the body area and muscle group being treated, as different areas require different levels of intensity.
Another difference between the three products mentioned above is the adjustable and customizable speed range.
While the Theragun Mini has only three built-in speed levels, the Theragun Prime and Theragun PRO both have five speed settings for more effective treatment and deeper muscle layer access.
In terms of ergonomics and design, the Theragun Mini wins the practicality award, as it fits into a small handbag and can be taken anywhere, even to work. If we do sedentary work, or simply suffer from lower back or neck pain, or have “slept wrong,” the Theragun Mini can provide immediate help anytime, anywhere. The Theragun PRO, on the other hand, can be a perfect choice for professionals, as it can be adjusted into four different arm positions, making it easier to reach different muscle groups and body areas.
Another very important piece of information is how often the device needs to be charged and how long it lasts on a single charge. It is not irrelevant whether, when we take our favorite “masseur” with us, it will not let us down during the day when we need it most.
The Theragun Mini and Theragun Prime both have a built-in lithium-ion battery and are capable of 120 minutes of continuous operation on a single charge, so we can be sure that if we charge them in the evening, we won’t have to worry about missing our massage experience the next day. The highest-end Theragun PRO, on the other hand, comes with two external lithium-ion batteries, each capable of 150 minutes of continuous operation, so if one battery runs out, it can be replaced immediately and the relaxation massage can continue. Charging is supported by a wireless charging dock, so even if we are not near a power outlet, we don’t have to worry—the Therabody has thought of that as well.
The final and one of the most important differences between the devices is how many applicator attachments are included in the basic package.
The smallest and most practical device, the Theragun Mini, comes with three attachments, which are perfectly sufficient for a basic recovery massage experience. The Theragun Prime comes with one more, meaning four attachments, adding a cone-shaped head to the Theragun Mini’s repertoire. Finally, the “king category” member, the Theragun PRO, tops the list here as well, as it comes with six attachments to provide a complete and comprehensive massage experience.
When viewed as a whole, it becomes clear and easier to decide which device best suits our needs and preferences. If we have omitted any information that might be of interest, we are available by phone on weekdays during business hours from 8:00 to 16:00 at the following number: (+36-1-412-1998).
